BioArch South – Isotope and Trace Element Analysis Terms and Disclaimer

Purpose

This disclaimer outlines the terms and conditions under which BioArch South provides laboratory, modelling, and interpretive services involving strontium isotope (⁸⁷Sr/⁸⁶Sr) and trace element analyses for ecological provenance, movement assessment, and related research applications.

Scope of Services

Services may include sample preparation, ⁸⁷Sr/⁸⁶Sr measurement, trace element quantification, spatial or statistical interpretation, and prediction-based modelling to assist in provenance or movement assessments using biological tissues (e.g. teeth, hair, claw, or other tissues). All work is conducted using established scientific methods, appropriate reference materials, and quality control procedures.

Limitations and Interpretation

  • Strontium isotope and trace element data provide probabilistic indicators of geographic origin, not definitive proof.

  • Interpretations depend on the quality, resolution, and applicability of reference datasets (e.g. isoscapes, geological maps) and the integrity of submitted samples.

  • BioArch South provides analytical and interpretive services only and does not assume responsibility for management, legal, enforcement, or regulatory decisions made based on results.

  • Natural environmental variability, diagenesis, sampling limitations, or unmodelled geochemical processes may influence measured values or predictions.

Data Ownership and Confidentiality

  • Analytical results, predictive models, and interpretive outputs remain the intellectual property of BioArch South unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Clients may use final reports for internal or approved project purposes only. Raw data, figures, maps, models, and proprietary methods may not be redistributed, reproduced, or reused without prior written consent.

  • Information provided via this website does not constitute publication or public release of baseline isotope data and must not be treated as a reference dataset.

  • All client information and sample results are treated as confidential unless written permission for release is provided.

Quality Assurance

Laboratory analyses are undertaken by specialist facilities using validated methods and appropriate calibration standards. Replicate measurements and reference materials are used where possible to ensure analytical integrity. Specific laboratory details are provided within individual project reports where relevant.

Disclaimer of Liability

While BioArch South exercises all reasonable care in conducting and reporting analyses, no guarantee, express or implied, is made regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of results or interpretations for any specific purpose. BioArch South accepts no liability for any loss, damage, or consequential outcome arising from use of analytical results, predictive outputs, or interpretive reports.

Acceptance of Terms

Engagement of BioArch South services constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
